My family uses the butane stove a lot ... and I mean A LOT because my mom makes GREAT hot pot meals. We would have 2 on the table. We have tried electric (hot plates and glass top) but you couldn't control the heat very well. We have tried various other brands (Mr. Max and Stansport) but they would fail and you get inconsistent flame around the circular burner.This Sterno is very solidly built and the flame is even all around. It costs a little bit more than the other one but it's definitely in the category of "you get what you pay for".
